Shadowrun: On The Hunt
Chapter 1
It started with a woman. All the good stories do. She was beauty personified. She had the face of an angel, and skin of porcelain. Her body was toned and taunt, with long limbs that you just want wrapped around you. Her dress was immaculate, a skirt-suit that accentuated her appearance. And her eyes are as pure green as the Emerald Isle, and they looked right into your soul.
Actually, her eyes did peer into your soul, as she wasnt human. She was a spirit of some sort, summoned by a magician years ago, and found her freedom through some manner. This usually spelled death for the magician in qu

Chapter 2
Of course, anyone who truly knew me wouldnt ask that question.
Jonathan Jonah Johnson was a good, honest person, widower, semi-retired. Not to mention independently wealthy from having his company bought out, and investments since then. Thats the official record. The reality of my situation is much darker, more sinister.
In the Light, I am Jon Johnson. In the Shadows, Im Mister Johnson. The nom de plume used to hire people that dont exist, to do jobs that never happen, and pay with money that doesnt show up on any ledgers. The paymaster to Shadowrunners, the common term

Chapter 3
It took all my willpower not to roar with laughter. Ive dealt with Shapechangers for decades, but never driven with one. It was honestly the most hilarious thing I had seen since that horrendous day when my wife died. Here I was, in a hot ride, with a Wolf Shapechanger who was hard as ferrocrete, sticking his head out the window, tongue hanging out the side, happier than a puppy with a new chew toy and a tummy rub. In Wolf form, it wouldnt have attracted any attention, but he was Furless at the moment, so we got the occasional look.

Chapter 4
While my C-N Jackrabbit was a sweet ride, its back seat leaves a lot to be desired. It had limited legroom, seatbelts that were next to useless, and a short seat that an Elfs skinny Hoop would slide off of. I would have fallen into the foot well while my attention was focused in the Matrix if I hadnt been stopped by the bucket seats in the front.
Will you quit chasing cars! Jet bellowed at Felix, who was yipping in pleasure at driving, I know were not supposed to go in any set pattern aside from this signal thing, but still
Still, its time to

Chapter 5
So what do gangers taste like, anyhow? I asked Felix as we walked back to the Jackrabbit. The neighborhood had barely noticed our presence, the Bouncers being pretty much the only exception. A bit of a brawl like this had only whetted my appetite for more socially unacceptable violence for a good cause.
Alligator is the closest that I can compare it to, only tougher. Not as well fed. Slight hint of chemicals. Spicy aftertaste. Grandpa had always warned me about questions I didnt want answe

In fact, the gang did have a Minivan handy. A beige Volvo with grade school bumper stickers on the rear. Guess some Soccer Mom got lost in the wrong end of town. But it also had the multiple bench seats in the back, which would allow for all the girls to be able to get to safety. A female ganger came with the van, but her leathers and, apparently, self-inflicted mohawk haircut appeared as anti-Mom as possible.
Felix rode with her, curling up in the passenger's seat of the suburban vehicle, growling at the driver. He'd keep her honest. I laid Debbie down in the bucket seat of the 'Rabbit, and strapped her in.

Ive got a debt to repay, I aint going to cry Ill put a gun in your face, youll pay with your life I sang as I moved down the dirty streets of the Redmond Barrens, dancing along. My Commlink was sending the song directly to my ears, all the while not blocking out the remainder of the situation on the street. The Classical music soothed me as I moved, sliding around like I was on greased soles.
And the words of the song were as true today as they were back then. I smiled and cued the link to mute the music, and approached the person I had been hunting f
